Tesla 3 is Now the Bestselling Car in Europe

Tesla represents a new, revolutionary approach to transport. Known for its innovations in non-commercial electric vehicles space, Tesla’s Model 3 made history by becoming the most sold electric car in Europe, outselling all other vehicles for the first time in September 2021. It is the very first electric vehicle to achieve such distinction in the global automobile market.

The car sales trends in Europe stand in stark difference to trends in some continents like the United States. While the best-selling vehicles in the US are pickup trucks and large SUVs, the smaller and more environmentally friendly models that are doing well in the European market are getting removed from the US market.

An Overview of Tesla Model 3

Tesla 3 is a fully electric car manufactured by Tesla Inc. at California’s Fremont factory. The sedan’s reviews have been overwhelmingly positive in America and beyond, at a time when the automotive market is slowly shifting to electric vehicles from combustion engines.

In September 2021, Tesla Model 3 became the bestselling car model overall with 24,591 unit sales, which accounted for Tesla’s 74% of its total volume from the third quarter. Renault Clio and Dacia Sandero were its closest contenders with 18,264 and 17,988 unit sales, respectively.

September would also mark the first time a car manufactured outside Europe became a monthly bestseller. It was also the month when an all-electric vehicle topped the bestseller’s list for the first time. Tesla doesn’t do diesel, petrol, or hybrids; it is all-electric. Tesla’s smallest and cheapest model, Tesla 3, sits below Tesla S luxury saloon, Tesla X, and Tesla Y SUVs.

Tesla 3 can manage a long-distance between charges and charge up a lot faster than its closest rivals Polestar 2, Hyundai loniq 5, and Audi Q4 E-Tron.

A Detailed Review of Tesla 3 Trims

Tesla Model 3 comes in three trims:

  • Standard Range Plus

Tesla’s base Standard Plus has a 283hp engine with 317 ft. lbs. and gets 263 miles of range. It comes with Tesla’s Autopilot, a panoramic glass roof, keyless entry, and a wireless charging pad. The model can accelerate from 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds, with a top speed of 140 mph.

  • Long Range

The trim is an all-wheel-drive with more driving range and the highest performance compared to other trims. It adds a premium audio system to the standard features. With an estimated 353 miles of range, the model can do 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 145 mph.

  • Performance model

Tesla 3’s highest trim level has an estimated 315 miles range. The car comes with a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, high-performance brakes, and sport suspension. It can accelerate from 0-60 mpg in 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 162 mph. The Trim has the most expensive configuration.

All trims come with leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, 4-way power lumbar, and a 1-speed direct drive automatic. Their safety features include a pre-collision warning system, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot safety, parking sensors, traffic sign recognition, front and rear cameras.

What Has Contributed to Tesla 3’s Bestselling Record?

Tesla 3 is a compelling electric car, which is simply the reason behind the car’s success. The model offers you everything you would need: attractive looks, strong acceleration, good range, high efficiency and performance in the SR+ version, and tons of modern safety features.

The other reason is that Tesla 3 is offered at a very competitive price without compromising performance and range. Even without the federal tax incentive, Tesla could price its EVs well enough to conquer the automobile market. The Standard Range Plus version costs 39,990 euros, the Long Range variant 49,900 euros, and the Performance version 54,990 euros.
